I love a variety of methods of image transfer, and I especially love transparency. In this mixed-media clay monoprint I am making use of gampi silk tissue. The image is from vintage sheet music for "You're Still An Old Sweetheart of Mine."
Painting with clay is my passion and my joy. Called clay monoprinting, it is a unique form of image transfer developed by Mitch Lyons. There is a spontaneity to this most satisfying process, and random surprises as colors and textures from previous layers come through in the print. Abstraction happens organically.
